Here’s a money question for everyone:
DH & I are planning on bringing about $1000-$1200 extra for our WDW/Cruise trip. What would you say is the best way to do this? Everything is paid for and we have the dining plan so the money is for extra food & drinks we may want/need, souviners and excursions & such on the cruise. I know we’ll have the key to world cards at both Disney & on the cruise and we can just pay the balance at the end of each. My big concern is our one & only foreign port for the cruise.
I’m not a big fan of travelers checks, but I know they’re safe. I’m sure we could just load the money into one of our checking accounts and use our debit card, but the idea of carrying our actual card(s) makes me nervous. Another thing we’ve considered is those loadable credit cards – I think all the major credit card companies do those now. I’ve also heard that some of them, if you lose them – do reimburst you.
This is my first trip out of the country (not including going to canada when I was like 13) so the whole foreign currency has me a teeny bit nervous. (Even though it’s only for about 10 hours of our 8 day vacation!)
The more I think about it, I think I’d want to use two different forms of payment just in case there is a problem with one, we still have money while getting it sorted out.
I am a total overthinker/planner, so suggestions on this topic would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
Thanks!
